Wild Pets is a project of Wild Tiverton CIC. Wild Pets (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect personal information when you interact with Wild Pets, including through our website, programme applications, donations, fundraising, events, volunteering and correspondence.

Wild Tiverton CIC is responsible for the personal information collected through the Wild Pets project and acts as the data controller for this information.

• your name, email address, telephone number and postal address;
• information submitted through Wild Pets applications and forms;
• information about participating children and their parent or guardian;
• communications you send to us, including emails and enquiries;
• information relating to donations and fundraising;

• photography and video where appropriate consent has been provided; and
• information about your preferences and involvement with Wild Pets.

Payment information provided when making a donation may be processed securely by our chosen payment provider. Wild Pets does not directly store full payment card details.

When you use our website, we may also collect certain technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited and cookie information.

We may receive information from third parties, such as fundraising platforms, where you have agreed for your information to be shared with us.

3. How we use your information

We may use your personal information to:

• process applications to Wild Pets programmes;
• manage participation by children and their families;
• communicate with parents, guardians, participants, supporters and volunteers;
• safely deliver Wild Pets activities and events;
• fulfil our safeguarding and animal welfare responsibilities;

• promote the work of Wild Pets through photographs, videos and stories where appropriate consent has been provided.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

We may share information where necessary with trusted organisations and service providers that help us operate Wild Pets, such as website providers, payment and fundraising platforms, IT services and organisations involved in delivering the programme.

Information may also be shared where necessary to fulfil safeguarding responsibilities, comply with the law or protect the welfare and safety of a child, participant or animal.

We will only share personal information where there is an appropriate reason to do so and will take reasonable steps to ensure it is appropriately protected.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, we will take appropriate steps to ensure that it is protected in accordance with UK data protection law.

10. Children’s Privacy

Wild Pets is specifically designed to give children and young people opportunities to become actively involved in wildlife conservation. Our first programme is open to children aged 8–13 years old.

We take the privacy and safety of children extremely seriously.

Where we collect personal information from or about a child as part of an application or Wild Pets programme, we will involve their parent or guardian and obtain parental or guardian consent where required.

We will only collect information about children that is reasonably necessary to administer applications, safely deliver the programme, fulfil our safeguarding responsibilities and communicate with participating families.

We may photograph or film children participating in Wild Pets activities. Appropriate parent or guardian consent will be obtained before identifiable photographs, videos or stories about a child are used publicly. Parents or guardians will be able to raise concerns or decline relevant media permissions.

We will take particular care not to publish personal information that could unnecessarily identify or compromise the privacy or safety of a participating child.

11. Changes to this privacy policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to Wild Pets, our website or legal requirements.

Any updated version will be published on our website with a revised date. Where changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to make users aware of them.
