Lauren O'Brien

Lauren is a BSc Marine Biology graduate from the University of Essex and has been working in wildlife and environmental conservation since 2021. She has gained hands-on experience in wildlife rehabilitation, particularly working with seals at Seal Rescue Ireland and the Cornish Seal Sanctuary. Her wider experience within the environmental charity sector includes environmental education, campaign coordination, community engagement and fundraising. After hearing about Wild Pets through the Devon Environment Foundation, Lauren was immediately inspired by the project and eager to join the team to help launch an initiative that brings together two of her biggest passions: wildlife conservation and empowering young people to make a difference. Lauren says:

“People working to protect nature are vital to the future of our wildlife, ecosystems and ultimately our own future. I believe that inspiring the next generation to care about and take an active role in conservation is where that work begins.”
